10 Jan 2007 - Trim Trail For Trinity!
The children at Trinity can now get fit and have fun on their very own Trim Trail. The Trim Trail is an assault course especially for children, the pupils came up with the idea of the trim Trail to make playtime more interesting. School councillors took the proposal to a council meeting where teachers and parents were so impressed that they agreed to help with the funding for the project. Friends of Trinity School (FTS) held fairs, fetes, a murder mystery party, a disco, stalls and many more events to raise the much needed cash for the playground.
Mrs Tighe said, ' This is a fantastic resource. The school is extremely grateful to parents for all their fundraising efforts. The children love the trail and are always eager for their next turn on it!'
The fundraising committee's efforts were supported by the Barclays Pound for Pound scheme. John Gerard-Pearce, a parent and fundraiser at the school, works for Barclays and they agreed to match each pound that John raised for the project. Chair of FTS Catherine Belton said, 'John's and Barclay's contribution was a terrific boost to the fundraising. Overall we have had a fantastic year of fundraising thanks to all the parents and friends who have helped at our events. The Trim Trail is a great asset and the children love it.'
