About Trinity Lower School

Trinity Lower School is a Church of England school situated in the village of Aldwincle. It is a rural primary school of about 100 pupils taking children from the ages of 4 - 9 from many villages in the area, including Islip, Sudborough, Lowick, Wadenhoe, Thorpe Waterville, Achurch, Pilton and Lilford. The School has close links with the Church and local communities.
The School has expanded over the years and we now have 5 separate classrooms and Year groups. All of our classes have a full time teacher and teaching assistant within them, which provides the best possible start for your children.
We have a large playing field at the rear of the school and an Outdoor Play Area, which is shared by Reception and Aldwincle Playgroup. Our tranquil Wild Life Area and pond, plus our "Living Willow", provide exciting areas for study and recreation.
This is a School that buzzes with liveliness and motivation, where there is a purposeful working atmosphere in every classroom, and happy, enthusiastic children and staff are proof of the positive ethos.
A number of After School Clubs are offered each term, which may include sport, dance, French, music, drama, cookery, computer, Scrabble and sewing to name a selection.
A School Council meets each week with Mrs Tighe, the Headteacher, made up of 2 representatives from each class. Each class nominates and elects its representatives. The Council plays an active part of in the day-to-day life of the School and the members enjoy their responsibility.
We also have a 'Buddy' system in the School, which has proved to be very successful. Two of our Year 4 children are chosen each week and help the younger children organise games, find them friends to play with if they are feeling shy and generally help them with coats, fruit and milk. These children always wear their badges with pride on the Playground.
