Dance -

Put on your dancing shoes!!  This term Year 2 shall be learning both maypole and country dancing.  Part of the lessons will be in preparation for our Maypole Dancing display at the Midsummer Fair on June 21st.  So dust off those plimsolls and be prepared for some confusion as we learn the Single Plait and the Spider’s Web!!

 

 

 

 

 

Art

We shall be designing a fabric collage which has been inspired by nature, from observational drawings of plants and animals, e.g. leaves, butterflies, bugs and flowers.  Then we will be experimenting with fabrics, threads and other materials to create the final piece.

 

R.E. -

Our RE topic ‘Judaism’ begins this half term.  It is one of our most popular topics we in Year 2.  We will learn about the festivals of Rosh Hashanah and Hanukkah – Festival of Lights.  We will make potato latkes and share them together as the Jewish families do to celebrate Hanukkah.

 

Class Targets For Numeracy             

To use number facts to add or subtract a pair of numbers within 0 to 20.

To add two, 2 digit numbers.

To understand division as sharing.

 Class Targets For Literacy           

To identify and discuss patterns of rhythum and rhyme in different poems.                   To use dictionaries, glossaries and alphabetical ordered texts to locate a word.  To use simple flow charts or diagrams to explain a process.  To use a model poem or a riddle to write own verse.
